The Prince William County Sheriff's Office, established in 1731, is one of the oldest government agencies in Prince William County, Va. It employs a staff of more than 90 full- and part-time sworn officers. The office is responsible for securing judicial centers and serving civil processes. The Prince William County Sheriff's Office provides service to the citizens of Prince William County and the cities of Manassas and Manassas Park, Va. It has a civil division that responds to legal processes directed to the sheriff, including writs of execution, evictions, notices, provisional and enforcement processes, and various other court orders and documents. The Prince William County Sheriff's Office also offers several support services, including animal control, fingerprinting, concealed weapon permits, and traffic and parking law enforcement.
