HistoryIn 1989 Arnora Hummel began Academie De Ballet with a small studio in Chesapeake, Virgina. That small studio has now become what it is today: one of the largest dance studios on the East Coast with more then 650 students and a dance center that occupies over three acres of land with four large studios, a scenic shop and wardrobe storage area.SpecialtiesHampton Roads' premier dance school. We at Academie de Ballet and Dance Centre are dedicated to giving the most professional instruction to not only develop the student physically, but also to develop mental discipline and an appreciation and respect for others. Many of our students have auditioned and been accepted by major ballet companies exclusive workshop such as: American Ballet Theater, Kirov, Pittsburgh Ballet, Joffrey Ballet, Boston Ballet and Alvin Ailey. Others have received scholarships to universites and still others have used their gift of dance to bless many in countries around the world while on a mission, which is a great calling.
