Division of Environmental Storm Water Management, located in Norfolk, Va., offers storm water management programs and solutions. Established in 1991 by the city of Norfolk, the environmental storm water management program was created in response to new federal and state environmental regulations requiring Norfolk and other large cities to reduce the pollutants in storm water. The program addresses street flooding problems of storm water runoff and offers services, such as street sweeping and drainage improvements. It also provides pollution reduction projects and wetlands protection. It also offers public education and information about pollution prevention. The division of environmental storm water management in the Department of Public Works oversees the program.
