New Hope was created in the fall of 1989, when several families from the McLean Presbyterian Church started mission work in the city, not far from the Fairfax City Courthouse. New Hope was officially recognized as a congregation on November 4, 1990.
It is one of 1,450 churches and missions throughout the United States and Canada that participate in the Presbyterian Church in America (PCA).
The church offers public worship, sermon discussion and evening worship at Fire Station No. 3 in the City of Fairfax. New Hope also holds monthly congregational dinners and monthly breakfast meetings.
