Lake Country Area Agency on Aging (LCAAA) serves as an advocate for individuals aged 60 and older in South Central Virginia, offering a range of supportive services to help them maintain independence and dignity in their home environment. Established in January 1974, LCAAA provides programs such as transportation, nutrition, in-home care, adult day health care, and other services to enhance the quality of life for the aging population in the community.
With a mission to remove barriers to economic and personal independence for older individuals, LCAAA receives funding from the Older Americans Act and local sources to support vulnerable elderly individuals at risk of institutionalization. Led by President and CEO Marvalene T. Johnson, the agency is dedicated to promoting compassion, independence, and well-being for senior citizens, while also providing resources for families and caregivers within the Planning Service Area.
