Melwood Horticultural Training is an internship program offered by Melwood, and is located in Waldorf, Md. Its six- to eight-week training internships offers a balance of hands-on, practical field assignments and experience, with classroom lecture and discussion. Its horticulture employment training program is designed to train persons with disabilities for employment through the training on horticulture. The training covers areas, such as holding down a job, getting to work on time, interpersonal relations, following directions and meeting production quotas. It arranges job opportunities in grounds maintenance, landscaping and greenhouse work.
