Gadsby's Tavern Museum is named for John Gadsby, who operated a tavern and the City Hotel in Alexandria from 1796 - 1808. Gadsby's establishments were visited by prominent guests of that time, including George Washington, John Adams, Thomas Jefferson and James Madison. The museum offers guided tours and has a gift shop. The last tour of the day is at 4:45pm. Admission for adults is $5 and $3 for children ages 5 - 12. Check the museum's Website for details on discounts.
