It's a nice park, no doubt about it. For those who like a simple area by the Potomac River, this could work for you. There's good places to run the dogs here. Yet the parking headache is real....

Nice little walk along the waterfront. When the weather is nice there is a volleyball court that you can take advantage of. Wide walking paths towards shops and restaurants.

Arboreta and botanical gardens

Jefferson Manor Park

Located at Farmington Drive and Telegraph Road, Jefferson Manor Park features a little-league baseball field, a basketball court, a playground and a picnic pavilion. The pavilion is available for reservation, and users who reserve the space will have priority over those who do not. To make a reservation, visit the park's website or call the number provided.

Burgundy Community Center

The Burgundy Community Center was established in 1970 for residents of the Burgundy Village Area of Alexandria to have a place to organize civic and recreational activities. The center is located right next to Cameron Elementary School and features a kitchen and grills on an outdoor patio. The facility is available for rent by residents of the Burgundy community. Rates are higher for non-residents.

This quiet neighborhood park located near Franconia Road features a basketball court and a playground for children. As parking is rather limited, the spot is perfect for residents of Duvawn Street and the surrounding neighborhood and easy to walk to.
