Since 1981, the Foodbank of Southeastern Virginia and the Eastern Shore has provided more than 420 million meals to neighbors in need. We serve 11 cities and counties, where one in eight residents experience food insecurity. In these communities, we play a vital role in the fight against hunger by collecting, storing, and distributing nutritious food. Beyond food access, we focus on long-term solutions by addressing the root causes of hunger and promoting self-sufficiency. Our mission is made possible by a dedicated network of volunteers, generous donors, and compassionate community partners. Together, we’re working to ensure that no one in our community goes to bed hungry. Our food donation receiving hours are 8:30 AM to 2:30 PM.

Peninsula Agency on Aging provides programs in cooperation with other community agencies in Hampton, Newport News, Williamsburg, Poquoson, James City and York counties in Virginia to assist older citizens in independent and productive living. It offers a variety of services and amenities, such as home-delivered meals, group dining, information and assistance, transportation, care coordination, long-term care and caregiver support. It offers various programs, such as the Virginia Insurance Counseling and Assistance, Senior Outreach to Services and Medtran Volunteer Transportation programs. The agency offers various additional services to support the independence and improve quality of life of citizens primarily 60 years and above by advocating, arranging and providing vital human services. Peninsula Agency on Aging is located in Newport News, Va.

Established in 1985, Virginia Beach Community Development Corp. provides affordable housing opportunities for low and moderate income families across Virginia Beach, Va. The organization offers various programs and services, such as permanent financing/down payment and closing cost assistance to first time home buyers. It also specializes in new construction and rehabilitation for sale in the first time home buyers program as well as rental housing for low-income families and disabled persons. The organization has received the Virginia Housing Award for 2010 Best Affordable Housing Conservation Effort for Beach Park West.
