Pumpkins, apples and squash are among the home-grown produce that Cox Farms sells in Centreville and Vienna each fall. With 21 greenhouses on the property, there's room to grow all kinds of fruits and vegetables, including sweet corn, tomatoes, watermelon and cantaloupe in the summer. In December, this family-owned farm also sells Christmas trees, wreathes and decorations at both the Centreville farm and Vienna market every day until the 23rd.
But for the rest of northern Virginia, Cox Farms is best known for Fields of Fear, with its haunted cornfield and hayrides operated on October nights and the Fall Festival, open seasonally during the daytime. With baby farm animals, a hayride, five giant slides and the Cornundrum adventure maze, the festival remains a popular family attraction.
