Founded in the late 1960s, ComSonics evolved from Warren Braun Engineers, which specialized in acoustical design for coliseums, auditoriums and churches. In 1968, as the cable television industry developed, Dr. Warren Braun identified a niche market in the repair of cable television equipment, which led him to rename his company and pursue this new opportunity. In addition to offering repair services, ComSonics began manufacturing cable television test and measurement instruments in 1975. Its first product, the Sniffer Detector, has since been followed by a full line of leakage detection products. Other products and lines offered by ComSonics include the CyberTek Qualifier, home shielding integrity qualifier; PathFinder, underground cable locator; TDR Tech, cable fault locator; and CyberTek Examiner, proof of performance signal processor. ComSonics is located in Harrisonburg, Va.
