The Virginia Department of Environmental Quality protects and enhances the environment and promotes the health and well-being of citizens. The department supports a petroleum storage tank program that includes various customer services for the community. In addition, it administers an operator training and assistance program in partnership with educational institutions to provide training opportunities for operator license candidates who wish to procure operator licenses.
