National Center for Missing & Exploited Children

National Center for Missing and Exploited Children (NCMEC) headquartered in Alexandria, provides resources and information to help recover and protect children, bring perpetrators to justice, and prevent crimes committed against children. The organization develops and promotes standard practices for protection and prevention and aids with issues of urgent response including during times of natural disasters. NCMEC collaborates with law enforcement, legislators, corporations, and communities to assist with recovery, outreach, family advocacy, public policy advocacy and law enforcement. The website provides the national hotline number for missing children, an online search function, information about AMBER alert and resources for parents or professionals dealing with missing and exploited children. Volunteer opportunities are listed on the website as well as ways to donate resources and funds.
