Fire and Emergency Medical Service is a provider of public safety services and operates more than 20 fires and over nine rescue stations. The department serves a population of more than 299,000 citizens. It offers a wide range of services, including preparing families for natural and man-made disasters and other emergencies. Additionally, it provides various other services, such as organizing safety education programs, reviewing construction and fire protection system plans, inspecting buildings and investigating fires. The department s plans review section is responsible for performing a review of all plans for new construction and renovation of commercial and multifamily residential buildings to assure the fire protection and life safety provisions. Fire and Emergency Medical Service is located in Chesterfield, Va.
