The Centreville Labor Resource Center opened in December 2011 to provide jobs for temporary workers and day laborers.
The center is the culmination of a four-year effort by the Centreville Immigration Forum to provide the workers with a safe place to wait for jobs. Workers sign up for jobs by specialty and are hired on a first-come basis by area companies who need temporary help. Organizers anticipate that eventually about 40-60 workers a day will use the center.
