History
Camp Dickenson was donated by the Dickenson family to the United Methodist church. The family had lived on the property since the 1800's, where they farmed and operated a river-ferry to move people and vehicles across the New River. In the time since acquiring the property, many new facilities and amenities have been built to meet the needs of campers and guests. Still, the original family home still stands in the middle of camp, and serves guests with lodging, meal preparation, and meeting space.
