Since 1976, the Washington Metrorail has been serving Washington DC and its surrounding areas, including Alexandria. The Metro is the second busiest mass transportation network in the United States. The Braddock Road Subway Station opened in 1983. Both Blue and Yellow lines run through this station, with connections to the Metrobus and DASH. Taxis, bike parking and car sharing are available, as well as short-term metered and street parking.
