Established in 1944, the Ashburn Volunteer Fire & Rescue Department is run by more than 100 volunteer members. It provides a range of fire suppression, lift safety and emergency medical services to the citizens of Ashburn and surrounding communities. The department offers services to over 40,000 people and also provides technical rescue programs. It organizes a variety of community events, including breakfast sessions. In addition, the Ashburn Volunteer Fire-Rescue Department maintains a hall that features a kitchen, restrooms and air conditioning and heating systems. It maintains a fleet of ambulances and rescue vehicles and is located in Ashburn, Va.

Pikesville Volunteer Fire Company

Pikesville Volunteer Fire Company is a full service community organization based on East Sudbrook Lane in Pikesville. The company works to protect the community and uses a wide range of apparatus and vehicles including heavy rescue vehicles, fire engines, tower vehicles and medic vehicles among others. The company also offers birthday party services for kids in the community, allowing kids to take a tour of the station, learn about firefighting work, get souvenirs, as well as a ride on one of the trucks (weather permitting) among other party services. Call ahead to book a time. The company also offers an online store with a wide range of items including jackets, patches, sweatshirts, posters, books and more.

Cape St. Claire Volunteer Fire Company

The fire company's station is a welcoming site when drivers enter the community on Cape St. Claire Road. The company was formed in 1955 and its station was completed in February 1957. Today, the station has grown to house five engine bays, and manpower consists of more than 20 riding volunteers, supplemented by four 24-hour shifts with four career personnel per shift. The fire company uses both county-owned and volunteer-owned equipment, including two engines, a tanker, a BLS unit, a chief's car and a utility vehicle.

Bowie Volunteer Fire Department & Rescue Squad

The Bowie Volunteer Fire Department is located in Old Bowie, but serves the entire region when needed. It has four full-time firefighters on duty 24 hours a day as well as a network of volunteer firefighters. It has a ladder truck, two engines, and an ambulance. You can reach them for non-emergencies at 301-262-0501, or you can call the universal line for all stations in PG County by dialing 301-883-77(19), as this is station 19. For the other Bowie stations (39, 43, and 816), dial the same number and replace the last two digits, which will connect you to the appropriate station.
