Established in 1944, the Ashburn Volunteer Fire & Rescue Department is run by more than 100 volunteer members. It provides a range of fire suppression, lift safety and emergency medical services to the citizens of Ashburn and surrounding communities. The department offers services to over 40,000 people and also provides technical rescue programs. It organizes a variety of community events, including breakfast sessions. In addition, the Ashburn Volunteer Fire-Rescue Department maintains a hall that features a kitchen, restrooms and air conditioning and heating systems. It maintains a fleet of ambulances and rescue vehicles and is located in Ashburn, Va.
