Founded in 1966, the American Subcontractors Association is a nonprofit, national membership trade association of more than 5,400 subcontractors, specialty trade contractors and suppliers in the construction industry. It charters local chapters and state organizations across the United States. The association provides members with various services that include advocacy, communication, connectivity, education and stewardship. It expands and markets the National Business Practices Interchange. The American Subcontractors Association educates members about constructor certification and promotes professionalism by certification through trade-specific programs that benefit the construction industry. It also develops a model code of ethics for construction subcontracting firms.
