The City of Burlington Department of Parks and Recreation maintains more than 30 parks and its facilities are comprised of over 550 acres of land. The department maintains various parks, recreation centers, cemeteries, arenas, campgrounds and waterfronts. It organizes a variety of events, programs, fairs and festivals. Located in Burlington, Vt., the department supports several activities for preschoolers, adults and senior citizens. The City of Burlington Department of Parks and Recreation operates an urban forestry program that includes the management of streets, park trees and nearly 150 acres of forested parkland. The department supports the Burlington Conservation Legacy Program, which promotes the acquisition, management, protection and enhancement of forested areas.
