The Harrington College of Design offers specialized associate s degrees and Bachelor of Fine Arts degrees designed to help students prepare for a digital photography or interior design career. In 1931, Frances Harrington, a practicing interior designer from New York, traveled to Chicago to provide a series of lectures for interior design professionals. Because of the growing interest in her lectures, Harrington expanded her teachings to the public by creating the Harrington Institute of Interior Design. The school recently changed its name to Harrington College of Design to reflect its broadened coarse offerings in digital photography and communication design.
