History
The Guilford Country Store has always been a local landmark in the town of Guilford, Vermont. Founded in 1817, it has seen the town through almost two centuries of changes. In 2010, it had a brief period where it was closed as a business, but Guilford saw to it that their beloved store would not be closed for long. The Friends of Algiers Village Inc., a non profit orginization focused on maintaing the integrity of the Guilford community, brought together a fundraising effort over the course of three years. Finally, the doors reopened in the summer of 2013 under the new management of Mark and Suzanne Tessitore, a local couple. The renovation has created a friendly local store environment that offers indoor and outdoor seating in which to enjoy a meal from our deli, or just relax, have a cup of coffee, and surf the web. We sell house wears along with all your lunch and grocery needs! The Guilford Country Store has been revitalized and revamped and we are ready to serve you!
