Dragos Banu, MD FACP is a general internist, serves as the Internal Medicine Medical Director at the University of Vermont Medical Center Essex and is an associate professor of medicine at the Larner College of Medicine at the University of Vermont. Dr. Banu’s mother’s career as a midwife was a prominent part of his childhood in Eastern Europe, Romania. The relationships his mother had with her patients had profound impact and inspired Dr. Banu to pursue an education in medicine. “Having the privilege to help my patients and being able to partner with them in their decision-making - which will influence their health outcomes - makes me feel accountable and proud,” he says. Dr. Banu aims to do his best to establish deep connections with patients, which helps to pave the health journey.
