History
Darkside Snowboards first opened in Killington, Vermont in 1989. Snowboarding was in its infancy, but Bill and Teeta Langlands decided to give it a shot. Brushing off the laughter of the ski industry, Darkside grew with snowboarding as equipment improved and more people jumped on board. Darkside operated at the top of the Killington Access road next to Nightspot Outback until 2006, when land was purchased down the road and Darkside as it stands today was built.. Darkside Killington has its own hike park known as The Dark Park. This past season, we installed new lights to make the Dark Park accessible after the mountain stops spinning the lifts. With a handful of movable features to session, the options are endless. The Dark Park also serves as an event venue, hosting snowboarding contests throughout the season. When the snow melts, check out our skateboarding mini ramp located behind the shop, also with lights!
