Commercial and industrial building operation, Antiques
Old School Cool
HistoryWhen the owners met they started doing a lot of yard-saling together on the weekends. After they had their first child in 1998 a friend of the family suggested they make a little money and open a booth at a local antique shop. That did well and soon that same friend told the couple they should try selling items on the internet auction giant Ebay. The Ebay business did well, especially after the owners also opened a printing business and started selling novelty stickers online. Soon another friend mentioned that they had space open in a building they'd recently purchased and so the printing and Ebay business moved to 141 River st. The space was so large that they decided to fill the rest with additional items from yardsaling, and so the Indoor Flea Market was born in 2001. Since then the shop continued to grow from one room until it encompassed the entire second floor. Now it has two dealers who sell in the shop and the rest is purchased inventory or donations from the community.SpecialtiesAntique books, primitives, vintage clothing and accessories, brand name handbags, DVDs, vinyl, electronics (vintage and secondhand), costume and fine jewelry, antique bottles, glassware and china, kitchenware (vintage and modern), Vermont antiques, figurines, collectibles, and tools (from antique to modern).
