HistoryI started learning the principles of permaculture about 40 years ago but have only been teaching this material for a short period of time.SpecialtiesHi My name is Bob I have started my own business where the primary goal is to teach families how to design their own food forest with permaculture principles. My students successfully grow great tasting, high quality organic food, ethically, and sustainably. We have courses that start every 2 months and your entire household is invited to attend. In these courses we teach you how to consider all the elements of nature. The average homeowner spends a lot of time, effort and money on their yard. Our design course helps to ensure a successful outcome where the yield increases over time as the need to care for the yard decreases. The course lasts almost 4 months and includes class time, take home assignments and hands-on experience which is important because most people learn better by doing, wouldn't you agree? We meet for two hours on Tuesday's and Wednesday's in the evening, and all current students will also participate in this one 2 to 3 hour lab each month on a Saturday. The lab will be held in our demonstration site with workshops such as surveying, composting, weeding, planting, grafting, clearing, mulching and harvesting depending on the season. Both classes will work together in these workshops. These activities build community and give you hands on experience.
