The Provo Housing Authority assists qualified low-income families, individuals and people with special needs to become economically self-sufficient by providing affordable housing services. It owns and manages more than 250 public housing rental properties throughout Provo, Utah. The authority administers the Family Self-Sufficiency program, which provides rental assistance to improve the economic situation of families and reduce their dependence on public assistance and welfare. In addition, its rental subsidy program allows participants to pay 30 percent of their adjusted income for rent and receive a utility allowance from the housing authority.
