The Division of Occupational and Professional Licensing, also known as DOPL, is an agency of the Utah Department of Commerce, which is governed by the State of Utah. The division administers the Utah Recovery Assistance Program, which assists chemically dependent individuals who hold professional licenses. It enforces the state s licensing rules and regulations. The Division of Occupational and Professional Licensing has issued more than 167,000 individual- and businesses-held licenses. The division investigates unlawful and unprofessional practices. It operates a prelitigation section that is responsible for the evaluation and settlement of malpractice claims. The Division of Occupational and Professional Licensing investigates unlicensed practice in regulated professions and occupations.
