The Public Services Department is an agency that is responsible for the planning and maintenance of streets, historical centers and government buildings. The department conducts various building inspection, engineering and road construction projects. Additionally, it manages golf courses, parks, recreational facilities, cemeteries and heritage centers. The department provides installation solutions for curbs, gutters, sidewalks, road signs and closures, and sewer and storm water systems. It offers traffic control, weed maintenance, lane stripping, street patching, and snow and ice removal services. The department provides garbage and waste pickup, disposal and recycling services. It operates the Community and Economic Development Department, which oversees planning, redevelopment and code enforcement programs. The Public Services Department is a part of the government of Murray City in Utah, which also operates fire, finance and police divisions.
