Harmons
Harmons, a family-owned chain of retail grocery stores, came into existence in 1945 when Jake and Irene Harmon bought a property in Granger, Utah. The company was one of the first to introduce an in-store courtesy booth, hardware, pharmacy, bakery, produce, and full- and self-service meat departments. Its range of products includes grocery items, nutritional supplements and meat products. Its stores offer various health care and natural and organic food products. The company has a floral department that provides flower arrangements for parties and special occasions. It organizes coloring contests for school children and conducts in-store demonstrations. In addition, some of the stores offer digital photo development, movie rental, dry cleaning, Western Union money transfers and convenience payment services. Harmons employs over 2,000 associates, and maintains locations in various cities throughout Utah, including Midvale.
