Established in 1975, Intermountain Healthcare is a private, nonprofit system of hospitals, surgery centers and clinics that serves the medical needs of people in Utah and southeastern Idaho. It employs a work force of more than 30,000 people. The system accepts Medicare and Medicaid health care plans. It offers a range of financial assistance and billing services. Intermountain Healthcare provides chemical dependency inpatient detoxification, residential treatment, mental health care and substance abuse evaluation services. It manages Clinical Genetics Institute, which offers newborn screening and genetic disorder treatment solutions. The system s facilities include the Cassia Regional Medical Center, Alta View Hospital, American Fork Hospital, Bear River Valley Hospital, and Logan Regional Hospital.
