IPC was founded by Stephen Sandau to provide needed paleontological compliance services to companies in the Uinta Basin and surrounding areas. We offer a full range of paleontological services and provide our clients with expert advice and solutions to help meet the increasing state and federal environmental laws and regulations pertaining to the protection of paleontological resources nationwide (NEPA, FLPMA & NHPA requirements).

Intermountain Paleo-Consulting (IPC) is a full service paleontological consulting firm, providing paleontological reconnaissance surveys, construction monitoring, records searches, and inventory of fossil resources. In operation since 2004, we offer these services year round, employing a qualified staff of full and part time employees. IPC holds state, federal, USFS and tribal permits in Utah, state and federal permits in Colorado, and federal permits for Arizona, Colorado, Montana, Nebraska, New Mexico, Nevada, North and South Dakota and Wyoming, enabling us to work anywhere in the intermountain region. We have been pleased to provide our services to a wide range of clients, some of which include Anadarko Petroleum Corporation, Kerr McGee Oil and Gas Onshore LP, Bill Barrett Corporation, EOG Resources, Enduring Resources, QEP Energy Corporation and QEP Field Services.
