I am a family physician currently practicing at the Intensive Outpatient Clinic at the University of Utah. We provide primary care to high risk patients living with multiple chronic illnesses. By individualizing our care using an interdisciplinary team, we are able to provide high quality care and reduce unnecessary utilization in the system. My interest and skills in underserved care were first honed at the U Health Redwood Clinic where I spent my first few years after residency. There I witnessed the unique health care needs of the refugee population. In 2003, I joined the University of Utah Department of Family &; Preventive Medicine, Division of Family Medicine at the Sugarhouse Family Health Center. I was able to continue working with diverse communities by strengthening our clinic`s refugee health programs and expanding to work with gender minority populations. We are collaborating with the U Health community and are participating in the development of the U Health Transgender Health Program as a primary care partner for trangender and gender-nonconforming people. I am married with 2 children. I enjoy running, mountain biking, Nordic and downhill skiing, and spending time with my family in our spectacular Wasatch Mountains.
