West Texas A&M University, founded in 1910 and located in Canyon, Texas, is one of the northernmost senior institutions of higher learning in the state. The university s population includes from the neighboring states of Colorado, Kansas, New Mexico and Oklahoma. The university offers a doctoral program, more than 40 masters programs and over 60 undergraduate degree programs within a four colleges and one school structure. The programs cover the areas of agriculture, nursing, science, engineering, education, social sciences, fine arts, humanities, business and health sciences. The university operates under a liberal arts philosophy and offers academic programs through small classes and career-oriented workshops.
