Founded in 1959, W.M. Green Elementary School provides flexible academic programs with emphasis on the development of basic learning and thinking skills. The school has an annual enrollment of more than 670 students. It also maintains a parent-teacher association. W.M. Green Elementary School is governed by the Fort Worth Independent School District, which serves over 80,000 students in nearly 140 elementary, middle and high, as well as alternative schools. The district operates through purchasing, business and finance, curriculum and instruction, human resources, psychological services and transportation departments. Its schools curricula include classes in English, math, social studies, science, writing and reading.
