Laura M. Goetzl, MD, MPH, is a board-certified and fellowship-trained maternal-fetal medicine specialist whose practice is primarily centered around prenatal diagnosis through ultrasound, amniocentesis, and chorionic villus sampling. She also cares for women with complicated pregnancies, such as women with diabetes or autoimmune conditions. Goetzl’s care model focuses on patient autonomy and informed decision-making.Shes a professor in the Department of Obstetrics, Gynecology and Reproductive Sciences at McGovern Medical School at UTHealth Houston.Goetzl received her medical degree from the University of California, San Francisco, followed by her residency in obstetrics and gynecology at Brigham & Women’s Hospital and her Master of Public Health (MPH) degree from Harvard T.H. Chan School of Public Health. She is heavily involved in research into the effects of infection and medications/drugs on the developing fetal brain. One of her current grants focuses on the impact of marijuana during pregnancy on the structure of the fetal brain and on neurodevelopmental outcomes at age 2. Outside of work, she enjoys cooking, traveling, and time with her family.

Dr. Hope Northrup is a Professor and Director of the Division of Medical Genetics in the Department of Pediatrics at McGovern Medical School at The University of Texas Health Science Center at Houston (UTHealth). Dr. Northrup sees patients of all ages with a genetic or suspected genetic condition. She is devoted to providing the best care possible to patients and families.
