Established in 1876, The University of Texas System consists of various academic universities and health institutions. The organization is responsible for managing the Permanent University Fund (PUF), other endowments and university land areas. It also carries out the responsibility of collaborating with the Board of Regents on matters related to strategic planning. The University of Texas System offers a range of centralized and value-added solutions, including distance education, learning assessment, workers compensation insurance, facility planning and construction, and accountability and performance benchmarking. In addition, it provides finance, legal, real estate, audit, claims and bankruptcy recovery, and intellectual property education and consultancy services.
