Established in 1998, Texas Lone Star Network is a consortium of 39 rural-telecommunications carriers in Texas. It was formed to coordinate the completion of the statewide fiber optic network. The company provides private line transport, Internet bandwidth, long-distance aggregation and CALEA (Communications Assistance for Law Enforcement Act) compliance services for its members. In addition, the firm provides sales, marketing, engineering, provisioning, network testing, billing and collecting. It is a member of INDATEL, a national group of similar statewide consortiums across the country.
