Established in 1949, the Texas Association of School Boards is a voluntary, nonprofit educational association that serves and represents local Texas school districts. Its membership includes more than 1,035 school districts, over 20 regional education service centers, nearly 50 junior colleges and approximately 150 educational cooperatives. With more than 600,000 employees, the Texas Association of School Boards provides on-site consulting, educational assessment and child care services. It plans and implements guidelines for the working of child care center, as well as organizes on-job training sessions and educational workshops and presentations. The organization additionally offers various financial management, school safety and leadership development programs. The Texas Association of School Boards is located in Austin, Texas.
