Texas Association of Counties, formed more than 30 years ago, is a nonprofit organization that offers services to Texas counties and assistance to all county officials. TAC offers customized educational programs, such as judicial education, modern management skills, county investment training, loss control and changes in public policy. Its field representatives offer risk management consultation and technical assistance on coverages and pooling. It offers other services, such as assistance to county government in all matters relating to their technology needs, access to cooperative purchasing opportunities and other online purchasing services, and retirement benefits.
