Established in 1956, the Schertz Fire / Rescue Department provides safe fire and rescue resources, promotes public education and emphasizes community involvement. The department offers fire suppression and prevention services, as well as advanced life support and swift water rescue services. It has more than 30 full-time paid firefighters. The Schertz Fire / Rescue Department maintains a fleet of reserve engines, support vehicles, brush trucks and rescue trailers. It serves over 35,000 citizens and is located in Schertz, Texas.
