History
San Antonio Yoga Center began as San Antonio Yoga. The studio was designed and built by its owner and senior teacher David Gillis and his son. The iconic cedar and glass building was originally in Historic Helotes off highway 16. For twelve years students enjoyed the pastoral surroundings of majestic oaks, wildflowers and our community garden. One year ago David decided to physically move the beautiful building to a new location, a daunting task to say the least. Moving the building took the combined herculean efforts of a small army of professionals, friends, family and students. At its new location the original building is still named San Antonio Yoga but is now part of a several building complex collectively called San Antonio Yoga Center. This 2.6 acre expanse offers more studio space for practitioners to come and enjoy yoga in connection with nature. Trees and wildflowers have been planted, (community garden planned for 2014) ensuring what we all loved in the past continues.
