San Antonio College was established as University Junior College in 1925. It is one of the largest single-campus community colleges in the United States, enrolling more than 22,000 students. Located in San Antonio, the college is accredited by the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools. It offers a comprehensive liberal arts curriculum with classes in accounting, chemistry, architecture, fine arts, history, journalism, kinesiology and dance, photography, political science and sociology. The college also offers professional and technical education, including programs in administrative computer technologies, court reporting, dental assisting, medical assisting, banking, child development, graphic arts, nursing and mortuary science. San Antonio College offers distance learning courses and online services to students in Guadalupe, Comal and Bandera counties in Texas.
