Oral and maxillofacial surgeons are specialists who treat a wide variety of problems and defects of the teeth, mouth, face, and head. This training requires completion of four years of dental school, followed by a very demanding six-year hospital-based residency program. During these six years, they have received their medical doctorate, completed a one-year general surgery internship, and have become adept at all oral surgical and anesthesia skills needed. Oral and maxillofacial surgeons are uniquely trained and qualified to diagnose and treat a wide variety of problems relating to the teeth, gums, jaws, and mouth.

Dr. Brown opened his practice in Odessa in 1982. He is certified by the American Board of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery and is a Fellow of both the American Association of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons, and the American College of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons. He is a Member of the Texas Society of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons, the Southwest Society of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons, the Permian Basin District Dental Society, the Texas Dental Association and the American Dental Association. He served in the U.S. Naval Reserves for eight years. He is dedicated to providing quality surgical care to the residents of the Permian Basin.
