Northeast Houston Hearing Services was founded by Kathleen Strafuss, M.A., after she became inspired about new advances in hearing aid technology. These advances, such as digital processing speed and open fit hearing aids enabled many adults to benefit from hearing aid amplification who were previously bothered by the plugged up feeling of in-the-ear hearing aids or the cosmetic factors of standard sized behind-the-ear hearing aids. Kathleen graduated from Kansas State University with her Bachelor's Degree in Education and obtained a dual Masters Degree in Audiology and Speech/Language Pathology. She is pursuing her Audiology Doctorate ( Au.D. ) so that she can continue to bring up-to-date skills and knowledge to her patients. She is currently licensed to practice Audiology and Speech Language Pathology in Texas, as well as certified by the American Speech-Language and Hearing Association ( ASHA ). She is also a member of the American Academy of Audiology ( AAA ). Kathleen has worked in a variety of settings in both Speech/Language Pathology and Audiology, including schools, hospitals, rehabilitation centers and private practice. Kathleen currently resides in Humble with her husband, John.
