History
For the past thirty years, Dr. Bhatia has served as a private practice physician and clinical professor in obstetrics and gynecology at the University of Texas Health Science Center. Her journey to achieving this distinction is a long and nuanced one. Dr. Bhatia's time in San Antonio began as a second year resident at the University of Texas Health Science Center. Upon completing the program, she became one of the first female graduates of the residency program. The connections she formed with her fellow residents and the chair of the department led her to choose San Antonio as the destination for her practice. After beginning practice, the university came calling again. The chairman cited Dr. Bhatia's familiarity with the program in asking her to serve as a clinical professor. Since that time, OBGYN residents have trained under the tutelage of Dr. Bhatia for a total of six to eight weeks in the third year of their residencies.
