Bernard Mollberg worked with the late pipe organ builder Otto Hofmann from 1974 - 1976. He then combined luthiery with piano work while developing his skills. From 1980 to 1999 his shop was located in the warehouse district of E. St. Elmo road in South Austin, TX. From 1999 to present the shop has been in rural Blanco county, where it is just about always a beautiful day. Mollberg Piano Restoration has provided employment and training for many notable piano craftspeople over the decades. Determination to adhere to high quality work, best practices in piano restoration, and fair dealings with customers, employees and suppliers has earned this business a strong word of mouth reputation, that sustains the business to this day.
