Cardiologist R. Allen Baum, MD, FACC is Board Certified in Cardiovascular Disease and is a member of the American College of Cardiologists and Texas Medical Association. Dr. Baum joined Cardiology Clinic of San Antonio in 1997 and has played a key role in its growth and success ever since. He and Dr. Fernando Triana pioneered the Cardio-Hospitalist Program at Methodist Hospital, providing 24/7 coverage and care for heart patients in San Antonio and throughout South Texas. Dr. Baum has a Bachelor of Arts degree in biology from Austin College in Sherman, Texas, and a medical degree from University of Texas Medical Branch at Galveston. He completed his internship, residency and fellowship at Scott White Memorial Hospital in Temple, Texas. Dr. Baum was chief resident from 1990 to1991 and chief fellow from 1993 to 1994. After completing his fellowship, Dr. Baum served as a staff cardiologist at Scott White Memorial Hospital and Clinic and as an assistant professor at Texas AM University Health Science Center College of Medicine in Temple, Texas until 1997.
