Since its establishment in 1975, the Medical Center of Plano has maintained a reputation as one of the largest and most sophisticated medical facilities in Collin County. The center has 425 beds and is accredited by the Joint Commission on Accreditation of Healthcare Organizations. In October 2004, it became the first hospital in the county to have a nationally accredited chest pain center. It offers many health care services from arthroscopy to X-rays. Its emergency room is staffed 24 hours, seven days a week. The hospital s services also include surgical, radiology, intensive care, dialysis, rehabilitation and behavioral health.
