History
Our founding members gathered together in 1991 to fill a needed space in Northwest Austin, that of a liberal forward thinking church. Our main goal was to provide a place to raise our children with values and teach them how to give back to the world around them. As we grew as a congregation we also expanded our goals. We began to look beyond our walls and really began participating in Austin life.

Live Oak Unitarian Universalist Church is a diverse and welcoming community. As the circle of hands symbolizes, we gather together to socialize, explore our spiritual journeys, try to heal our world, and transform lives. Live Oak, as a welcoming community, promotes love, reason, and freedom in religion. We understand that individuals walk many spiritual paths in personally meaningful ways, and as a community, we envision nurturing individual growth. We promote programs, events, and activities throughout the year that embrace the rich tapestry of beliefs in our world, through these events, we seek common places where we grow and move together to work for a more just and compassionate world.
